KEN ARAGAKI
I am a multimedia journalist, with a special focus on visual stories, working in New York City and Tokyo.
As a freelance journalist, I have contributed stories to a variety of media outlets including ABC News, The Haitian Times, NBC News, the Olympic Channel and Weekly Asahi.
A graduate of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, I have been trained to work as a one-man-band journalist capable of shooting, editing and producing visual stories as well as writing print articles.
Previously I worked as a program officer for the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), a non-profit organization in Washington, DC, and as a news producer for the NY bureau of Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), one of the leading national TV networks in Japan.
During my time at TBS, I coordinated an exclusive interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2010 and a reporting trip to the Arctic Ocean in 2007.
I have a master's degree in journalism from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor's degree in international politics from American University.
Originally from Tokyo, I am fluent in Japanese as well as English.
